Reflecting With Gratitude

At the end of last week, Ranch board meeting took place. Board members from across the United States came to provide management and oversight of Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch. We are also quickly approaching the Thanksgiving holiday. As I reflect on these two events, I feel great gratitude for all the people who come together to make the Ranch a ministry like no other.

Ranch board members and employees in Ranch leadership positions are all passionate about helping the children we serve. Each one brings special gifts to this ministry of healing children. Each one has a servant heart, focused on changing children's lives, one at a time.

Together, they study and analyze procedures and practices so we are at our best. They find ways to save money, raise money, and reach people who want to support the work we do. They are good stewards of our assets. These folks give of their time, treasure and talents so the Ranch can go above and beyond for a child in need.

I am also thankful for our supporters and friends of the Ranch. We so appreciate the time they invest in learning about our ministry and praying for our kids. Some donate in-kind items, like quilts that wrap our children in warmth and love. Others support the Ranch through monetary gifts which we then use to transform the lives of those in our care.

Thanksgiving is a time to reflect with gratitude on all the blessings that God has bestowed upon us. Beyond the aroma of turkey and fixings, the parade, the football, and the laughter of family and friends is the knowledge that none of us are in this alone. We are all together in this world and all that comes with you.

God bless you and your family!

Yours in Christ,

Janet Zinke
