Lucas Mitzel, LMSW, joins Dakota Family Services

Dakota Family Services recently hired Lucas Mitzel to provide outpatient therapy in Fargo. Mitzel, a Licensed Master Social Worker, will provide behavioral health therapy for children, adolescents, and adults ages 5-30.  

In his practice, Mitzel will use a multi-faceted therapy approach including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and an informed Dialectical Behavioral Therapy approach.

Mitzel has held several positions at Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch where he started as a Youth Care Worker in 2014. Since then he has been a case manager and a therapist. He earned his master’s degree in Social Work from the University of North Dakota. He lives with his wife in Fargo.

Dakota Family Services, founded by Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch, is a group of compassionate, practiced experts providing outpatient care—in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary setting—for children and adolescents with complex behavioral health issues.
