Kelly Jacob Joins Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch as Spiritual Life Coordinator

Deaconess Kelly Jacob recently joined Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch as Spiritual Life Coordinator. Jacob is a psychology graduate of Concordia University, NE (2014). She graduated in May 2017 from a dual master’s program and has a Masters of Spiritual Care with a deaconess, Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, certification from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, and a Masters of Social Work from Saint Louis University. She completed her deaconess internship at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, an inner-city church whose primary ministry is serving the community, particularly individuals experiencing homelessness. After completing her internship, Jacob served at Prince of Peace for another year.

In her new position, Jacob cares for the spiritual needs of the residents of Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch in Minot, ND, through the presentation of the Gospel, scriptural mentoring, moral guidance, and community involvement. 

She is passionate about assuring people that God has not abandoned them. "He loves all people, regardless of their life experiences, and desires for them to know and share His love," said Jacob. "I love sharing God's love, hope, and joy with others."

Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch is a founding member of Lutheran Services in America (LSA), a Recognized Social Ministry Organization of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS) and an Affiliated Social Ministry Organization of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). The Ranch is also a Mission Partner for Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC). 

Jacob will join the Spiritual Life team at the Ranch that includes Rev. Rick Jones, Chaplain and Vice President of Spiritual Life; Pastor Tom Marcis, Bismarck campus Chaplain; and Jay Schaefer, Spiritual Life Specialist on the Ranch's Fargo Campus.
