Rebecca Ulven named to Association Board

Rebecca Ulven, Ph.D., Walcott, N.D., was elected to a one-year term on the DBGR Association Board of Directors at its June meeting. Ulven works in the Fargo Public Schools as a school psychologist, where she has served for 12 years.

Ulven previously worked in the South Valley Special Education Unit, Fargo, as a school psychologist and K-12 Students with Learning Disabilities teacher in Hankinson. She also serves as a basic skills math teacher in Abercrombie and was an assistant professor in the Special Education Department at Minnesota State University Moorhead, Minn. Ulven received her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership in May from the University of North Dakota.

Her prior experience includes serving as School Psychology practicum supervisor from 1994-2002, where she supervised first and second year school psychology students and collaborated with school and community professionals to give practicum students a broad-based experience with children of all ages and disabilities in regular and special education settings, including Luther Hall, Fargo. She also served as Assessment Task Force Member for the N.D. Department of Public Instruction from 1992-1993.

Ulven is married to Verne Ulven. The couple has two daughters: Liz (Dr. Jared) Anderson, and Joni Ulven.
