The popular Pigs ‘n a Blanket event, sponsored by Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch, have created a whole new way of “wrapping children in love.” The quilt auction and pig roast dinner help to fund DBGR programs across the state.

Fargo Pigs 'n a Blanket

Tuesday, Sept. 16
Hope Lutheran Church, South Campus
Fargo, N.D.

Bismarck Pigs 'n a Blanket
Tuesday, Oct. 16
Western Plains Residential Center
1227 35 ST N., Bismarck, N.D.

The evening begins with a 3 p.m. quilt preview, dinner served beginning at 5 p.m., and the live quilt auction at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets at the door at $7 per person or $15 for families of three or more.

Quilts of all sizes are sought for the auctions, but quilts that go particularly well are high-quality, pieced and patterned quilts; and also those that have a theme, such as cabin quilts, wildlife, country, NASCAR, any cartoon character, John Deere and Allis Chalmers—you get the general idea.

A very special request—new this year:

One quilt will be put on silent auction at the 2008 Hostfest, Minot, N.D. The Hostfest is attended by 25,000 people each year and this will be a wonderful way to draw attention to the Ranch, the event and the stunning quilts we have donated each year.

We are seeking a friend who could create a quilt with a Scandinavian theme, preferably a king-size quilt. We would, of course, love to have several of these, which then could be up for auction at our events.

To donate a quilt:  Deadline September 1

Send quilts to:  Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch, C/O Quilt Auction, 3314 33 ST SW, Fargo, N.D., 58104.  Inside, please include your name, address and phone number, so we may contact you if needed; and also indicate which auction you would like your quilt to go to—Fargo, Bismarck or “use where most needed.” Finally, please suggest a starting bid for your quilt.

Quilts can be dropped off at any of our thrift stores or program sites. Mark them “quilt auction.”

Quilt sizes:  Twin:  63 x 87”; Double: 78 x 87”; Queen: 84 x 92”; King: 100 x 92”
