Won’t you join us for a Honey Sunday?

The Honey Sunday program is such an important part of Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch—and it has been for nearly 30 years!

We’ve never heard of anyone who has had honey go bad. Honey—often called “nature’s perfect food”—offers a wealth of healing…It can speed recovery of the body’s ills inside and out. But I’ve never heard of it going bad. It may crystallize, but put a jar of crystallized honey into a pan of water and warm it slowly…and once again, it returns to its former state of golden, smooth honey.

The boys and girls who become residents at the Ranch bring with them a myriad of hurts they’ve experienced or had to live through, but when they find their way through the dark, they discover that they are not alone—there are many who would help them to find the light. At Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch, the help we offer is made possible only by the grace of our Lord, Jesus Christ. And just as honey may harden, our boys and girls may be hardened by the tough times they’ve experienced. They come to us already rough around the edges, but Jesus has given us staff who care so deeply about these children, and over time, many of our troubled youngsters find faith in our Lord and soften, allowing themselves to trust once again.

We are reminded—every time you choose to do a Honey Sunday—of the many perfect ways of our Lord: He’s the perfect gift, who gave perfect love to EVERYONE. Jesus had no prejudice. He didn’t believe one human was better or worse than another and we try to model our programs for at-risk youth after Jesus. When you hold a Honey Sunday, you not only get and give honey, you get a chance to give love to the at-risk boys and girls, who are so deserving of a second chance.

Honey Sunday is easy, fun and one way that you can raise funds for your church, Bible Study Group, or Youth Group AND help the children at Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch. If you have any questions about our Honey Sunday program, please contact Debbie at 1-800-344-0957.
